When I joined TravelPerk, we were 50 employees and 2 designers. When I quit, we were 500 employees and the design team grew up to 10 designers in 9 months. I started when TravelPerk decided that to scale properly, a whole migration of the codebase was needed. The product team took the opportunity to rebuild the webapp, offering a complete new user experience. With Chris Roy, the Lead Designer, we built a new design system from the ground, went through the whole booking experience, added concierge, trains and cars booking plus a whole bunch of admin pages. We added many features in all the verticals. In parallel, the very first version of the mobile app (web based) was released on iOS and Android.

A lot of user interviews were conducted, starting by any new employee joining the company. We ran many design think workshop, defined OKRs, our design principles and ultimately migrated from Sketch to Figma to allow a better collab between teams.
We used tools like Lookback to watch user sessions, FullStory to analyse user behaviors, Promoter to measure NPS, Mixpanel then Looker for data. On the frontend part, we worked closely with engineers on the React Storybook.
A complete design system has been built and maintained, as well as illustrations.
